New Beginnings

I have been a Napa resident for over 20 years, and like many of you, was evacuated during the 2017 Atlas Peak fire event. My family and I have been working through our new “normal” of PG&E Safety Power Shutoffs over the last two years, with our whole community.

As COVID entered the mix, a friend of mine said, “Quarantine sucks, but at least we have power.”

“For now,” I thought.

This jump-started a thought I'd had last year as I considered the needs of individuals, small businesses and wineries. “We don’t have to go through the current crisis and the ‘new normal’ of PG&E’s Public Safety Power Shutdowns (‘PSPS’) like this. There are real implementable solutions.”

I sought out companies from different sectors that could bring solutions to residences and businesses.

I found viable options that would ensure no gap in power, enabling companies to keep their doors open, and protect vital goods and services. For example, we can convert grid-connected roof-top solar to battery systems that automatically switch from off-the-grid systems to battery back to ensure wells (for drinking water and irrigation) continue to operate. We can install generators, both permanent and mobile, with fire-season contracts that ensure proper fuel re-supply and troubleshooting. We can install brand new solar systems with fail-safes already built in for potential power outages.

I am excited to bring these options to our community to help us grow while protecting one another and our businesses through the many ups and downs of life. I look forward to working with you.

Sincerely,

Joe Fischer
